The Good in the Hood show offers both Performance (Assembly) and Workshop formats. The Performance is a 45‐50 minute high energy show that blends multimedia video presentations with music and live dancing to promote a positive school culture. This approach to delivering character education involves minimal teacher or facilitator training.
The Workshop format allows students to participate as dancers in the Performance. During orientation and auditions, students learn how to identify character traits by a person’s thoughts, actions and motivations. Each of the character traits are represented by a student dancer selected during an audition. The audience gets to vote on their favorite dancing character when the Performance has ended.
